Vince Whelan

Managing Director – Ass. Dip. Elec. Engineering 

Vince has worked in the family owned business since he commenced his electrical apprenticeship in 1977, and gained industrial experience working wth Ralph Lee Constructions in Papua New Guinea for a short time in 1985. He holds an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering and has vast experience in Industrial Maintenance, electrical Drafting, Switchboard Design and Construction, Water & Waste Water Pump Station Mechanical / Electrical Works and Industrial Electrical Installations.

On taking over ownership of the company in 2000, he remains greatly involved in the day to day running of the business. Vince sits on the board of the Master Electricians Australia and is committed to the prosperity of the Electrical Contracting Industry in Queensland.

Shayne Farrelly

General Manager

Shayne commenced his apprenticeship with Whelan Electrical Services in June 1991.

On completion of his Apprenticeship in 1995, he completed a CAD Drafting Course and Supervisors Safework College of Worksplace Health and Safety.

Shayne’s duties include Electrical/Mechanical Drafting, Switchboard Design and Construction, Water and Waste Water Pump Station Mechanical and Electrical Works and Tender preparation.

Peter Gormley

Electrical Supervisor

Peter commenced his apprenticeship in 1980 with our company and spent many years performing domestic appliance repairs.  In 1997 Peter left to gain further experience in the electrical field, specialising in electrical maintenance in the ski fields.

Peter returned to his hometown of Yandina in 2012 and recommenced employment with us in 2013.  Peter had gained invaluable industrial experience during his time away.  During these 19 years, the company had changed greatly.  Our company no longer does appliance repairs and is based around municipal pumping projects and light industrial works.  Peter grasped this field immediately and now leads the site installation works and is also involved in switchboard construction.

Peter gained many licences from his time away and is extremely safety conscious.  He advises the company in our safety meetings.
